The house we love has sold! GRRR...
Although this was a very disappointing discovery, we are focusing on the fact that there is something else out there, and we will be just as excited when we find "the" house for us!
Meanwhile, we have another private showing tomorrow afternoon... so we should get the house looking as nice as possible.
... one might wonder, "Why isn't it always looking nice, on the off chance someone might want to see it?" Well, ideally that would be the case, but alas, we have to live here. This results in the lived-in look that can sometimes escalate to an official mess... as it currently is...
But, we are glad to have had this much interest in the past month or so. We really are doing well in that department, considering the real estate market (at least in our price range) in West Michigan. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that all these private showings will result in an offer soon. So in the meantime, I need to find a new house to pine over.

Sorry! But as you said, you'll find the perfect house! We actually had our hearts set on a house (and had put in a contingent offer), but didn't end up getting it... and found one that fits us much better! Good luck with the showing tomorrow!
Oh, sad! You sound like you have a good attitude about it though. I totally understand about the messy house thing. Each time someone comes through, I feel like I have to clean the house from top to bottom, even if I just cleaned it the day before. I mostly blame it on the kids :)
could we both be going overboard with the cleaning? i bet most people don't notice all the details - like whether or not the legs of our dining chairs are dusted, etc... but I'm afraid of messing up any potential chance with someone who *might* notice those things! better safe than sorry...
I'm so glad to hear that you're a little obsessive with the cleaning too. I'm afraid I make myself a little bit crazy each time. However, when we were going through houses, I expected everything to be perfect, so I guess I always have that in the back of my mind.
